In order to learn more about the products, services and technology capability of the 2nd largest ICT Corporation in Vietnam, the delegates of Ministry of Information and Communications including Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Head of the delegation, Director General of Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Information and Communications, Mr. Nguyen Vinh An - Deputy Director General of Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Information and Communications, and 25 directors and deputy directors of Departments of Information and Communications in Northern area: Bac Ninh, Cao Bang, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, etc. visited and worked at CMC Building at No. 11 Duy Tan on the afternoon of November 22nd 2018.

In the presentation to welcome the delegation, Mr. Ho Thanh Tung - Deputy CEO/Chief Strategy Officer of CMC Corporation gave an overview of CMC Corporation and information technology capability of CMC. Then, Mr. Luong Vu An Binh - Chief Sales Officer of CMC Infosec introduced 3 typical solutions of the company which are Centralized anti-malware solution (CISE), CryptoSHIELD antivirus solution, and CMC NextGen SOC – Information security operation center of the next generation.

In the presentation, Mr. Luong Vu An Binh mentioned the large information disclosure attacks to Facebook, Yahoo and recently many Vietnamese enterprises have also met this situation. In order to help enterprises and organizations with data protection and network security, CMC Infosec is providing a security checking service by trying to “hack” into gateway and internet banking systems to assess the level of information security for agencies and organizations. Besides that, from the perspective of state management, representatives of Ministry of Information and Communications and Departments of Information and Communications should have policies for guidance, investment and management of network security for agencies. To solve this problem, Mr. Binh also presented the model of “CMC Security Solutions Blueprint” built by CMC Infosec to provide companies and organizations with comprehensive and long-term consulting service for counter-attack and treatment of security attacks.

Besides the field of integration and security, software is also one of the strengths of CMC Corporation. Representing CMC Soft Co., Ltd., Ms. Ha Mai Lan (Deputy CEO of CMC Soft) presented the capability of providing software solutions and services in the field of Finance, Insurance, Banking, Telecommunications, Library Management, Government and Enterprises. Especially, with Edocman Plus – a software for management of documents and works, Ms. Lan said that CMC Soft has added the function of digital for 100% of digitalization, connecting to electronic documents of the Government and central ministries and “flattening” documents so that all people, from managers to specialists, can participate in processing them simultaneously. In addition, CMC Soft, in collaboration with the Government Committee for Cipher, has successfully produced Edocman Secure, an upgraded version to encode documents and ensure security when uploading documents to the internet.

As part of the strategy of building a multi-purpose land information system and the strategy of building smart city of the Government, CMC Soft has also used experiences in building Singapore's land database to develop software solutions of land management. In addition to traffic management, the system will also detect incidents of fire and disasters through the platform of 3D camera and data integration.

Then, to understand the current situation and study how to apply technology in management at local departments, representatives of CMC Corporation discussed with heads of departments of provinces and cities to share about difficulties, current situation and desire to develop when applying technology into management. One of the top concerns of provincial Departments of Information and Communications is the security of documents on the Internet, next is the interconnection between the software for guidance and management of departments. To answer this question, Mr. Luong Tuan Thanh (Chief Technology Officer of CMC SI) said that CMC is cooperating with major information technology enterprises in Vietnam to build solutions of data integration and common platform for the inter-ministerial information system of the Government, and hope to solve the problem of connecting documents of the departments.

At the end of the working session Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Director General of Organization and Personnel Department, Ministry of Information and Communications said: “Currently, Ministry of Information and Communications is focusing on promoting ICT technology and management on internet platform, in which management issues at locality cannot be left unresolved. The visit today at CMC Corporation has helped heads of local Departments of Information and Communications have better views on the application of information technology, software and information security solutions. I hope that the Director General of Departments will have the action plan that aims at right target, affirming the role of departments and localities in State management".
