In the field of manufacturing and consuming made-in-Vietnam products, the most typical brand should be CMS computers manufactured and supplied by CMS Computer Co., Ltd. (a member of CMC Corporation). Established in 1999, CMS has been pioneering the investment in computer factory, industrial production line and modern laboratory which meet standards of international quality management system: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 17025. In addition to manufacture, CMC Corporation also proves software to be one of its strengths by developing "made in Vietnam" software for Vietnamese users. Founded in 1996, CMC Software Solution Co.,Ltd. (CMC Soft) focuses on packaged software, provides solutions and software services in sectors of Finance, Insurance, Banking, Telecommunications, Library Management, Government and Enterprise. The famous software of CMC Soft, which are used by a large numbers of customers from the government sector, enterprises, banking sector and insurance sector include: eDocman Plus – Business operation software (recently has been upgraded to eDocman Secure which integrates security function), CMC Portal – electronic information portal, C-Invoice – electronic invoice software, CeHR – human resources management software, CeAC – Business accounting software, IU – Intelligent University solution, iLib – electronic library solution, etc. In recent years, CMC Soft continues investing in human resources for advisory service and implementation of ERP, Business Intelligence, MES… for enterprises in Vietnam with quality at international level.
At the meeting, representatives of members of CMC also presented the difficulty in trading products made by Vietnamese people, which is the lack of customer's confidence for domestic products, and the high expectations for foreign items. The trend of prioritizing domestic goods related to cyber security has been applied by other countries in the world for a long time, however in Vietnam, there haven't been lots of specific actions in this regard. CMC also suggested to have more relevant policies to encourage agencies and organizations to use IT products made by Vietnamese people, to conduct inspections and corrects the deliberate purchase of foreign goods, which is a waste of national budget.
Ms. Hoang Dieu Linh, a representative of Hanoi Information Technology and Communication Transaction Center (under Department of Information and Communications), said that the leadership of the Department is very enthusiastic with the program of Vietnamese people use Vietnamese goods and really wants to learn about the difficulties and problems encountered by enterprises in order to plan actions for the coming years. In terms of communication, the Department will cooperate with the press to influence consumer's thinking, and regarding medium-and-long-term policy, every year, Hanoi always prepares a report on the progress of the consumption of Vietnamese goods by Vietnamese people, said Ms. Linh. In recent time, the city also has had policies to change people's perception. Through this meeting, Ms. Linh hoped that there will be more news articles about this issue.
