CMC RESTRUCTURES TECHNOLOGY AND SOLUTIONS BUSINESS UNIT, AIMS TO LEAD AI TRANSFORMATION
CMC Corporation recently announced a restructuring program for its Technology and Solutions Business Unit, consolidating the consulting capabilities of CMC Consulting into CMC Technology and Solution Corporation - CMC TS. Along with the change in organizational model, CMC appointed Mr. Nguyen Hai Son as Acting Chief Executive Officer of CMC TS.
This is an important move in the 2026-2030 strategy, as CMC Corporation positions AI-X - comprehensive AI transformation - as its core development axis. The restructuring of CMC TS is seen as preparation in organization, capability and operating model for CMC to work more closely with customers and partners on their journey of digital transformation, AI transformation and modernization of technology infrastructure.

CMC TS completes its end-to-end partnership model for enterprises
Following the restructuring, CMC TS continues to position itself as the core of the Technology and Solutions Business Unit, assuming the role of connecting consulting, implementation, system integration, AI product development and security capabilities.
The consolidation of consulting capabilities from CMC Consulting helps CMC TS form a closed-loop capability chain, including digital transformation strategy and ERP consulting; design and implementation of technology infrastructure and digital platforms; security, operation and system optimization. With this model, CMC TS aims to become an end-to-end technology partner for enterprises, from identifying business problems and consulting on roadmap development to implementation and performance measurement.
According to CMC, market demand is changing rapidly. Enterprises no longer simply need to buy software, lease infrastructure or implement an individual technology project. In the context of AI becoming a new competitive capability, customers need a partner with the ability to understand business problems, design suitable technology architecture, implement at scale and protect systems in a synchronized manner.
CMC TS will focus on key customer segments in Government, large enterprises, banking and finance, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications and industries with high demand for AI transformation. After the merger, CMC TS increases its charter capital to VND 350 billion, continuing to expand its capacity to serve more than 20,000 enterprises nationwide.
Speaking at the announcement of the CMC TS restructuring program and the appointment of the company’s new leadership team, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - Chairman of the Board/Executive Chairman of CMC Corporation - emphasized the key role of CMC TS in the new ecosystem.
“CMC’s goal is to become a global digital corporation and AI technology corporation. In the CMC ecosystem, CMC TS plays an important role in leading and creating AI transformation value for enterprises in the market. I will personally take responsibility before the Group’s 6,000 employees, together with the entire CMC TS team, to put Vietnam’s technology consulting model on the global map.
For me, a leader must be committed and must set an example. We will resolutely follow the path we have chosen to achieve the goals we have set,” Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh said.
New Acting Chief Executive Officer and CMC TS’s second transformation challenge
Mr. Nguyen Hai Son was appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer of CMC TS as the company enters a new transformation cycle, with the expectation of making CMC TS an end-to-end partner for digital transformation and AI transformation for enterprises. Mr. Hai Son has more than 25 years of experience in information technology, having held many leadership positions in software development, project management, transformation portfolio management and technology consulting at domestic and international organizations such as EVN, Harvey Nash, Techcombank and Oracle Vietnam.

The appointment of Mr. Son shows that CMC is placing emphasis on consulting capability and leading customers from the early stage of the AI transformation process. This is also a difference in CMC TS’s new model: not only implementing technology when customers already have requirements, but participating from strategy definition, roadmap design and transformation organization.

According to the new direction, CMC TS will not only be a provider of technology solutions, but also become the focal point for bringing CMC’s AI-X capabilities into customers’ practical business problems. The focus is on programs that help enterprises improve operational efficiency, enhance governance capability, exploit data, automate processes and build AI-based competitiveness.
AI-X becomes CMC’s strategic axis for 2026-2030
The restructuring of CMC TS takes place as CMC announces its second transformation direction for 2026-2030, taking AI-X as the core driver. In CMC’s approach, AI-X is not only the application of AI into several individual processes, but the process of bringing AI into infrastructure, data, platforms, products, operations, governance and customer experience.
From 2026 to 2028, CMC will focus on building its foundation, completing C-OpenAI and launching flagship products. The 2028-2030 period will be a time to expand scale, replicate market share and capture the domestic market. From 2030 onward, the Group aims to bring several products, platforms and AI service models to international markets.
CMC’s 2026-2030 strategy is organized around five main business units: Digital Infrastructure; Technology and Solutions; New Technology - Strategic Technology; Global Business; Education and Workforce Development.
The Digital Infrastructure Business Unit continues to develop data center, cloud, connectivity and managed services capabilities, creating a foundation for AI use cases with high requirements for data, computing and operational safety.
The Technology & Solutions Business Unit, with CMC TS as its core, assumes the role of bringing technology into enterprise practice through consulting, system integration, digital products, infrastructure and cybersecurity.
The New Technology - Strategic Technology Business Unit focuses on developing core capabilities such as AI, computer vision, agentic AI, blockchain, IoT security and new technology platforms. This is the area that creates long-term competitive capability for CMC.
The Global Business Unit continues to expand international markets, developing AI-X, digital transformation, data analytics, cloud, automation and technology services for customers in Japan, South Korea, the US, Europe and APAC.
The Education & Workforce Development Business Unit, with CMC University at its center, participates in developing high-quality technology human resources, especially in AI, data, information security and digital governance.
