CMC introduces the trend of transformation into smart business model at the Congress of Vietnam Private Business Association (VP
At the Congress, Mr. Le Chi Dung ((Director of Innovation Center, CMC Corporation) gave the presentation of - “Vietnamese private entrepreneurs in the era of Industry 4.0”. According to Mr. Dung, Industry 4.0 provides businesses with many opportunities to innovate and develop, but besides that, challenges are not small, requiring businesses to change and adapt to new transformations. Specifically, Mr. Dung introduced the trend of transforming from traditional business model (focusing on management) to smart business model (focusing on support) of enterprises, with typical features including: networked organizational structure, comprehensive connectivity, instant synchronization and coordination in real time, internal communication mechanism with connectivity and sharing, transparency and competiveness, optimization through global interactive network. Unlike the goals of traditional business model, which are oriented towards profit, smart businesses focus on value as a motivation for creativity and sustainable development.

In order to be able to successfully transform from a traditional model to a smart business model, Vietnamese enterprises have to change the nature of many old-style business models and especially have to apply new technologies in general and information technology in particular in production and business activities. Mr. Dung said: “Thanks to the application of business models and digital transformation in enterprises, many member units of CMC have had developments at a very high level (up to 30-40%) within 5 years, despite the difficult economic periods.” Mr. Le Chi Dung said that CMC Corporation is aiming to become a model of creative organization, an example for many other business units, not only changing the old business model but also continuing to invest in creative ecosystem which is highly appreciated by many experts such as CMC Institute of Science and Technology, Investment Fund, Training Center, Innovation Center, etc. in order to contribute to create clear development opportunities in the future.
At the congress on the morning of November 21st, the results of election of Central Executive Committee for the term from 2018 to 2023 was also reported, according to which, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh (Chairman of Board of Directors /CEO of CMC Corporation) will continue to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of Vietnam Private Business Association in the next term. Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh said: “Now, digital transformation is not only internal digitization, but also the application of the most advanced solutions in Cloud, AI/Bigdata, IoT, Robot and security capability. With 25 years of experience in the field of information technology and telecommunications, especially experiences in digital transformation of enterprises, CMC wishes to accompany member enterprises of the Association and help Vietnamese enterprises to become more intelligent.”
At the end the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh (Politburo Member, Secretariat Member of Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Economic Commission) also affirmed that the private economy sector, the state economy sector and the collective economy sector are core pillars of an independent and autonomous economy. At the 5th Plenum of 12th Party Central Conference, three very important resolutions were issued, of which private economic development is made a prerequisite, standing prior to the state economy and the collective economy, which reflects consistent and long-term viewpoint of the Party and the State on the promotion of the private economy development. Mr. Binh said: “The private economy is an important component of the socialist-oriented market economy. Over the past time, the private economy has maintained a good growth rate, accounting for 40% of GDP, creating jobs for over 80% of the labor force of the economy, contributing to the stability of social security and order and improving people's life. Many private enterprises have increased the quality of their products and services, increased their competitiveness, actively joined in the global value chain, contributed to promote the image and improve the position of Vietnamese enterprises internationally.”
