CMC in cooperation with Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs for digital transformation towards ethnic minority areas

Mr. Hau A Lenh - Member of the CPV Central Committee, Minister/Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs together with leaders of the Committee including Deputy Minister and Heads of subordinate departments and offices had a working session at the headquarters of CMC Corporation on 22 November 2021.

At the working session, the Committee and CMC Corporation discussed the digital transformation strategy for the National Target Program for Socioeconomic Development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the 2021-2030 period.

The Committee’s delegation was received by CMC officers, including: Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - Chairman of Board of Directors, Executive President of CMC Corporation; Mr. Ho Thanh Tung - General Director of CMC Corporation; and leaders of member companies of CMC. 

Starting the session, leaders of the Committee were provided with general information about business situation, technology capacity and development history of CMC. Through which, the leaders highly appreciated CMC's development strategy in three strategic segments: Telecommunications; Solution and Technology; and International Business. 

CMC experts also presented the proposal of digitalization and digital transformation solutions in line with the National Target Program for Socioeconomic Development. The proposal mentioned the application of IT achievements in developing economy and ensuring information security for the lives of ethnic people.

 Mr. Hou A Lenh said: "We highly appreciate CMC's achievements over the past 28 years. In the 2021-2025 period, the objectives of deploying e-Government, digital transformation and IT applications of the Committee will focus on: Establishing an information system for ethnic people to have access to the Party's plans and the State's policies and laws; Connecting and sharing information with the information system of ministries, agencies and localities to provide timely and accurate information to people. CMC's digitalization and digital transformation solutions are completely aligned with these goals.

Responding to the Minister/Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman of Board of Directors, Executive President of CMC Corporation affirmed: "CMC has sufficient technology capacity, modern infrastructure and highly qualified personnel to cooperate with the Committee in deploying digital transformation and contributing to the development of e-Government."

On behalf of CMC Institute of Science and Technology (CIST), Dr. Dang Minh Tuan - Director of the Institute also suggested the Committee to build a software for typing some ethnic scripts in order to preserve the writing of ethnic minorities and facilitate the inclusion of ethnic script and culture on the Internet. As the father of Vietkey software, Dr. Dang Minh Tuan is confident that he can build advanced software and solutions to promote and preserve national identity.

Representatives of the Committee highly appreciated the ideal of digital transformation towards ethnic people and preservation of indigenous traditional culture. Currently, there is a huge gap in terms of the development between ethnic minority areas and other areas, as many places are still encountering a lot of difficulties. In addition, representatives of the Committee also want technology to help quickly and effectively bring policies to every member of ethnic communities in every region, so that they can catch up with the rest of the country in all aspects.

 At the end of the working session, the Committee’s delegation visited CMC's Data Center and SOC. SOC (Security Operations Center) is a network security management center that monitors, detects, quarantines and handles incidents and is responsible for the safety of the entire information system of the organization with 24/7 monitoring and operation. Also located at CMC Tower, CMC Telecom's Data Center is "The Best Data Center in Vietnam in 2021" as voted by IBM. 

 "The two centers affirm the technology capacity and professionalism of CMC, and ensure absolute trust for the Committee to cooperate with the Corporation. In the coming time, the Committee will work closely with CMC's technology engineers to implement a national digital transformation project," said Mr. Hau A Lenh.

The working session between Mr. Hau A Lenh, Minister/Chairman of the Committee and leaders of CMC set the foundation for the good cooperation between two parties. With 28 years of experience in Information Technology, CMC is a reliable and prestigious partner in medium and large ICT projects of the government sector. In the coming time, CMC will make efforts to cooperate with Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs to comprehensively implement digital transformation to support the National Target program for Socioeconomic Development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the 2021-2030 period.
