CMC Corporation donates 400 computers worth of 4 billion VND to disadvantaged students in Hanoi
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Hai - Senior Vice President of CMC Corporation presented this meaningful gift to Mr. Tran The Cuong - Director of Hanoi Department of Education & Training. The Department will send these computers to disadvantaged students in 10 suburban districts of Hanoi, namely: Ba Vi, Phuc Tho, Chuong My, Thanh Oai, Ung Hoa, My Duc, Thuong Tin, Me Linh, Soc Son and Phu Xuyen.
400 CMS computers with worth of 4 billion VND (10 million VND each) will be used by these students for their online learning as the Covid-19 pandemic is still unpredictable and there are a lot of difficulties with distance learning. The gift will allow them to have more equipment to learn and absorb knowledge more effectively.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Hai, Senior Vice President of CMC Corporation said: "The program of "Connection and Computers for Students" launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is significant to all sectors, all levels of government and all businesses, as it is the support for the education sector, for students and for our future." According to Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of Hanoi Department of Education & Training, as the Covid-19 pandemic is having complicated development, the education sector has organized online teaching and teaching through television to respond to the situation, so that students can still learn even though they cannot go to school. With the motto of not leaving any disadvantaged student behind in any situation, Hanoi Department of Education & Training hosted the program of "Connection and Computers for Students". Up to date, 6,914 equipment with value estimated at nearly 23 billion VND have been donated to help disadvantaged students with their online learning.
"This time, Hanoi Department of Education & Training will present 500 online learning equipment (computer and tablet) to 500 disadvantaged students in 10 suburban districts of Hanoi. Of these, 400 computers are donated by CMC Corporation. We would like to thank the benefactors with the thought of "the intact leaves protect the tattered ones" who have created favorable conditions for students to learn online. Currently, there are about 10,000 disadvantaged in Hanoi who do not have learning equipment. In the coming time, the education sector will further expand the program with the hope that students will do their best to strive in learning," said Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of Hanoi Department of Education & Training.
