CMC TS joins CoMeet to provide video conferencing solution "Made in Vietnam"
Established in early April 2020, CoMeet aims to offer solutions that are effective, secured, technologically autonomous and customized according to requirements of agencies, organizations and businesses, in the context of many companies have been switching to working online and telecommuting.
Five members of CoMeet are: CMC TS, NetNam, iWay, FDS and DQN. These are all active member of Vietnam Free and Open Source Software Association (VFOSSA).
Currently, members of the alliance are rushing to finish their works in order to officially provide the solutions for consulting, designing, deploying, integrating, supporting and maintaining video conferencing system on the open-source software platform Jitsi to users.

It is known that Jitsi - the platform used by members of CoMeet to develop video conferencing solutions is also used by many agencies and institutions, including: Government Office, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Construction, Vietnam Government Certification Authority, etc.
As some tools with "foreign" elements are being questioned about service quality, safety, security and user commitment, solutions and services provided by CoMeet are expected to bring multipoint connection, mobility and convenience to users, as well as to enhance characteristics of security and technology autonomy.
Notable features of the video conferencing solutions that are soon to be marketed by CoMeet include: enabling online meetings with unlimited number of connection points, sharing screen of all members according to the administrator's coordination, private chat, recording the conference, etc.
In particular, users can be completely assured of safety and security thanks to data encryption and participant control, said a representative of CoMeet. Users can also easily use the service on all platforms of MS Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android.
Adding more to the implementation method for providing solutions, representative of CoMeet said that members of the alliance will jointly provide basic, responsive, integrated and optimized service and solution packages based on the customer segments of each company. The members will also come up with service brands in accordance with their business strategy and target customers, such as NetMeeting by NetNam, SecureMeet by iWay, Hoptuxa by DQN, etc.
Talking with reporters, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quang, President of VFOSSA said that, thanks to being built on open-source platforms, solutions provided by CoMeet have a number of advantages, such as system personalization, which allows users to customize the interface as well as integrate to other services such as IP PBX, available systems of Polycom, Cisco, etc.
Optimistic about market potential, Mr. Truong Anh Tuan, representative of CoMeet said: "Our solutions do not depend on international transmission line and use domestic bandwidth, so they can run smoothly even if the AAG cable system is yet to be repaired."
In the warning about the risk of information security of video conferencing software issued in the evening of 14 April 2020, Authority of Information Security (MIC) also recommends agencies, institutions and businesses to prioritize the use of software for online learning, video conferencing and telecommuting developed by reputable companies, especially those provided by domestic prestigious companies.
