CMC Corporation donates 3 billion VND to 3 hospitals treating COVID-19
At the peak of COVID-19 and after the Prime Minister’s directive for social distancing in 15 days is issued, many businesses have been affected. However, that does not prevent large enterprises from fulfilling their responsibilities to the society. As a leading ITC company in Vietnam, CMC Corporation understands and sympathizes with the difficulties and shortage at medical facilities, especially the needs for medical equipment and health care for doctors and medical workers. In addition to caring for employees' health and carrying out measures for disease prevention, CMC Corporation also encouraged its officers and employees "each to donate salary of one day" to support the fight against COVID-19, which demonstrates the spirit for the community, standing side by side with the country to beat the epidemic. After two weeks, the total amount of donation from 3,000 officers, employees and the corporation's fund reached 3 billion VND.
On 13 and 14 April 2020, Mr. Dang The Tai (General Director of CMC Sai Gon Technology and Solution Co., Ltd.) and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luu (Head of Marketing & Communication of the Corporation) represented 3,000 officers and employees of CMC Corporation to give the donation packages to the Field Hospital for treating COVID-19 in Can Gio (Ho Chi Minh City), National Hospital of Tropical Diseases and Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi). Representatives of CMC Corporation gave the amount of 1 billion VND to each hospital.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Pham Ngoc Thach, Director of National Hospital of Tropical Diseases said: "As one of the hospitals in the frontline of the fight against Covid-19, National Hospital of Tropical Diseases would like to thank CMC Corporation for the encouragement, emotional support and material support of its 3,000 officers and employees to the hospital. This is a tremendous source of encouragement which gives more strength, confidence and responsibilities for medical officers and workers of the hospital to win the war against Covid-19 and protect people's health."

Touched by the donation from officers and employees of CMC, Dr. Nguyen Minh Quan, Director of Can Gio Field Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) said: "The support from CMC Corporation is a valuable source of encouragement for the "white-bloused soldiers" who are struggling in the frontline to fight the epidemic. Together with CMC, we have high hopes of the unity and support, which will form a great force to beat Covid-19."
As a leading medical examination and treatment institution of the central level, Bach Mai Hospital also had to spend two weeks under quarantine due to having people infected with Sars Cov2. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, the hospital's director expressed his feelings when receiving the gift from 3,000 officers and employees of CMC: “Bach Mai Hospital has overcome the difficult time during Covid19 pandemic. The Board of Directors and all officials and employees of the hospital would like to express their sincere thanks to the Party, the Government, Ministry of Health, the city of Hanoi, press agencies and people of the whole country, including the staff of CMC who have paid special attention and care during the past time. We are grateful to people all over the country whose hearts are always with Bach Mai Hospital.”

The total amount of 3 billion VND given by CMC Corporation to the three hospitals will be used to purchase necessary medical equipment as well as to support doctors, medical workers and Covid patients during the course of treatment. By this action, CMC wishes to make a contribution to help doctors and medical professionals who are struggling in the frontline to fight the disease. Earlier, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh (Chairman of BOD/CEO of CMC Corporation) also sent a letter to 3,000 officers and employees to encourage them in the fight against the pandemic: I want the 3,000 of us to unite and be as one. With creative initiatives, intelligence and talent, with the determination to stand side by side with the company, I believe that our CMC will overcome this storm. To all the staff of CMC, we must first of all stay calm, be cautious but don't be frightened. With the spirit of being creative, let's turn this risk into an opportunity by looking for new chances and new ways to improve and innovate, thus creating useful products and services to help the country and our customers to win the pandemic, save costs and improve labor productivity in order to overcome the difficulties together. We will win the battle against COVID-19!”
