CMC supports the country to fight against Covid-19
More than 3,000 officers and employees donate their salary for Covid-19 prevention and control
Immediately after the Government of Vietnam called for the whole country to join hands in the prevention and control of Covid-19 and mobilized businesses, individuals and benefactors to support, CMC Corporation launched the program of "Donating one day's salary to the Covid-19 prevention fund of Vietnam".
Accordingly, each officer and employee of the corporation will donate a day's salary to achieve the goal of having 3 billion VND for the fund. With the number of Covid-19 cases increasing day by day and new, unpredictable and highly infectious variants of the virus , the contributions of CMC will help Vietnam to win the pandemic, ensure safety for everyone and soon restore the normal daily life. Thereby, the socio-economic development will be promoted in the "new normal".
Donation of COVID-19 testing equipment to Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital
On 10 June, CMC Corporation in cooperation with Song Foundation donated medical equipment and automated Nucleic Acid extraction instruments of nearly 1 billion VND worth to HCMC University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. The donation took place at the program of "CMC supports the country to fight against COVID-19 - Unite to Fight", in response to the Government's call for joining hands in the fight against COVID-19.
Automated Nucleic Acid extraction instruments help to replace the previous manual method, save testing time and reduce the risk of infection for technicians. Thanks to this, local hospitals and the health sector can quickly trace related cases of suspected Covid-19 patients to cope with the stressful situation of the pandemic.
At the event, Mr. Duong Anh Duc - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said: “In the fight against Covid-19, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City as well as the hospital really appreciate the contribution of CMC Corporation in supplying the equipment, which help to test quickly, give accurate results, and reduce the pressure on medical staff”.
According to Mr. Dang The Tai, General Director of CMC TSSG, CMC donates equipment to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the HCMC University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital to share the burden with the medical staff who are at the frontline in the fight against the pandemic. CMC hopes that these instruments will help to ensure the safety of medical staff as well as ensure the safety and improve the health of people in Ho Chi Minh City. Thereby, Ho Chi Minh City together with the whole country will overcome the pandemic and recover the economy.

CMC people donate blood to fight the pandemic
The program of "Safe blood donation - CMC people support the country to fight the pandemic" was launched by Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - Chairman of the Board of Directors/President of CMC Corporation and took place in the 10th and 11th of June. The event was held in Hanoi by the corporation in cooperation with National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, in order for officers and employees to join hands with doctors and nurses to help patients in the midst of the pandemic. After the event, more than 280 units of blood from CMC people have been donated to the reserve of NIHBT.
The noble gesture of CMC people comes at a time when the whole society is struggling against the pandemic, and the blood reserve for medical treatment and surgery across the country is facing a severe shortage, with many patients at the fine line between life and death due to this shortage.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - Chairman of the Board of Directors, President of CMC Corporation directly participates in the blood donation.
During the donation process, requirements and regulations on disease prevention and control are strictly implemented to ensure the highest level of safety for participants. In addition to checking body temperature, washing hands with antiseptic products, wearing medical masks, and keeping a minimum distance of 2-3m, the venue and instruments used for blood donation are disinfected, and the medical staff have also been vaccinated and use specialized protective gears. The President of CMC also decided to hold "CMC blood donation day" every year.

Sponsor of smart monitoring equipment for Covid-19 prevention
It is expected that at the end of June, CMC will deliver security camera systems to quarantine zones in the districts of Ha Dong and Thanh Oai, Hanoi. Currently, the professional team is conducting a survey for the design and installation of the system. The system helps to monitor the entrance and exit to and from the quarantine zone, ensuring safety for prevention and control of the pandemic. In addition, CMC also proceeds to install a smart identification solution for the People's Committee of Hanoi to use during the pandemic as well as to ensure long-term security.
"Unite to Fight" is the common spirit of CMC Corporation in the campaign of "CMC supports the country to fight gainst COVID-19 - Unite to Fight". The campaign with a total value of 6 billion VND is a part of the corporation's series of activities to realize its corporate social responsibility (CSR). In 2020, CMC also donated 3 billion VND to 3 frontline hospitals for pandemic prevention, including: National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi) and Can Gio Field Hospital (HCMC).
Talking about the goals of the campaign, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - Chairman of BOD/President of CMC Corporation said: “On our 28-year journey, in addition to the goal of business development, CMC is committed to sharing difficulties with the community during epidemics and natural disasters as well as accompanying the development of the country. In 2020, CMC also had meaningful activities to support doctors and nurses on the frontline against Covid-19 pandemic.
