CMC donates COVID-19 testing equipment to Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital
The donation took place at the program of "CMC supports the country to fight against COVID-19 - Unite to Fight" jointly held by CMC and Song Foundation on 10 June 2021, in response to the Government's call for joining hands in the fight against COVID-19.
CMC Corporation donates automated Nucleic Acid extraction instruments to replace the previous manual method, saving testing time and reducing the risk of infection for technicians. The instrument also helps local hospitals and the health sector save time on testing and tracing related cases of suspected Covid-19 patients in the current stressful situation, and for better healthcare for the people of Ho Chi Minh City.

At the event, Mr. Duong Anh Duc - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said: “In the fight against Covid-19, departments and hospitals of the city really appreciate the contribution of CMC Corporation in supplying automated extraction equipment, which help to quicken the tests, give accurate results, and reduce the pressure on medical staff”.
According to Mr. Dang The Tai - General Director of CMC TSSG, CMC contributes advanced medical equipment for faster and more accurate testing. The representative of CMC hopes that the country will soon overcome the pandemic and restore the economy as well as the normal daily life. Previously, all 3,000 employees of CMC Corporation also contributed a day's salary to donate 3 billion VND to the Covid-19 treatment hospital in Can Gio, Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases and Bach Mai Hospital.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Bac, Director of HCM University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, expressed his gratitude to the sponsor: “We are very conscious in disease prevention as well as complying with the direction of the city's government, which advocates setting up Covid-19 testing and screening areas for patients. In that context, the hospital desperately needs medical equipment. The contribution from CMC Corporation is of great significance for the testing process to be more accurate.”

In addition to the above activities, CMC Corporation is launching the campaign of "CMC supports the country to fight against COVID-19 - Unite to Fight". The campaign includes the "Contributing to Vietnam's Covid-19 Vaccine Fund" program and the blood donation program with the slogan of “CMC’s blood is ready to support the country to fight against Covid-19”. CMC Corporation has donated 6 billion VND in the pandemic. Among which, 3 billion VND are for the COVID-19 vaccine fund, and the other 3 billion VND are for smart monitoring equipment used by People's Committee of Hanoi in quarantine zones for prevention and control of COVID-19.
