On the afternoon of December 28th, 2018, the seminar of "Industrial Revolution 4.0: Opportunities and challenges for electronics & ITC industry" was held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology with the participation of Prof. Dinh Van Phong, Ph.D. - Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, speakers from CMC Institute of Science and Technology (CIST) and leaders, cadres, students/graduate students of Institutes under Hanoi University of Science and Technology, as well as some other universities such as Post and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, Institute of Military Technology, National University, etc.
Giving the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Chan Hung, Ph.D. - Director of CIST introduced: “This seminar gives the most general knowledge about Big Data - AI - Block Chain - IoT/Robotics. These are the spearhead fields of Industry 4.0. Some people said that Industry 4.0 is just an extension and abstraction of the third industrial revolution, but through the information which is sincerely shared in this program, I hope that you will somehow have a more general view of Industry 4.0 in order to choose and make early orientations for your future.”
Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Chan Hung, Ph.D. - Director of CIST
The main content of the seminar focused on four "hot" fields of Industry 4.0: Big Data - AI - Block Chain - IoT/Robotics. Four presentations with generalized and oriented content from leading experts attracted attention and received many critical questions from students. The organizing committee has brought them updated knowledge from practical research and current trends. After sessions of presentation, students were able to experience technology research of CIST in projects of AI, Robotics and learn about projects in the fields that CIST is studying.
At the seminar, CMC Institute of Science and Technology (CIST) also launched the CMC-AI Contest for students/Ph.D. students of Northern universities/research institutes. The goal of the program is to set up playground for talents in the field of Bigdata/AI in order to create new technologies, find unique ideas for products and services, as well as strengthen the connection between CIST and other research institutes and universities. The competition will take place in 2 months from December 28th, 2018 to February 28th, 2019, its prizes and awards are expected to be announced on March 7th, 2019 at the headquarters of CMC Technology. Participants of the contest are students, postgraduate students, researchers and lecturers from technology universities and institutes in Northern area such as National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Post and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, Institute of Military Technology, etc. who are passionate about conquering challenges in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Contestants can take part in the competition free of charge.
The prizes of "CMC-AI Contest" are very attractive, including: 01 First Prize of 30 million VND, 01 Second Prize of 5 million VND, 01 Third Prize of 1 million VND, 02 Consolation Prizes of 500,000 VND each. Members of winning teams have the opportunity to be recruited into the Research Institute and member companies of CMC Technology. Prof. Dinh Van Phong, Ph.D. - Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Science and Technology has praised the organizing committee of the program: “This is the first time CIST cooperates with Hanoi University of Science and Technology to organize a seminar for students. The seminar is very interesting and meaningful. Although it is organized on the last school day in 2018, there are many student attending, which proves that the content of the program must be really attractive to them. I highly appreciate the content and the way of bringing up the issues of CIST experts. In this seminar, CIST also launched a contest that I think is very practical for students and has the potential to optimally develop young human resources and open up many new opportunities for them. I wish the competition great success.”
