Expert of CMC Telecom achieves the highest certificate in design and construction of Data Center
Mr. Le Minh Hieu, Deputy Director of CMC Telecom Technical Center, is the third Vietnamese person to own CDCE (Certified Data Center Expert) certificate.
This certificate is part of Data Center training course of EPI - the world’s leading organization in providing intensive Data Center training services. CDCE is the world’s highest certification for experts in design and construction of Data Center. This certificate proves their intensive and comprehensive knowledge of the life circle of a Data Center: from design and construction to operation and closure.
Mr. Le Minh Hieu spent 2 years to gain compulsory conditional certificates of Data Center, which are CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional) and CDCS (Certified Data Center Specialist) to obtain the highest CDCE certificate. Prior to the CDCE examination, candidates must take a training course in Thai Lan with Data Center experts of EPI. This is the world’s leading experts in managing and operating large Data Centers in Europe such as Getronics, Datahouse (Netherlands) and Global Switch (United Kingdom).
After the course, the CDCE certification examination challenges candidates with a multiple choice test consisting of 60 questions and 1 essay test with 25 questions in 180 minutes. The results of examinees must be over 75% to be recognized as completion. To take this certification examination, a candidate requires many years of study and accumulation of practical knowledge when working at Data Center. Besides that, candidates must have wide range of knowledge in the field of Data Center including 4 areas: architecture, electrical system, air conditioning, fire protection and telecommunications system. In the world, senior experts working at Data Center of Microsoft, Google, Equinix, Amazon, Facebook, etc. are all required to have this certification.
With the knowledge and skills acquired when possessing this CDCE certificate, experts of CMC Telecom have the world’s highest qualification for appraisal, design, construction and operation of Data Center in accordance with international standards. CMC Telecom currently owns 3 neutral Data Centers which meet Tier III standard in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and have a total floor area of over 2500 m2, capable of accommodating more than 620 racks. CMC Telecom’s new Data Center opened in December, 2017 in Hanoi, is now the first and only Data Center in Vietnam to have the PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). This is a compulsory security standard for businesses that store, transmit and process payment cards.
