CMC President answers an interview with The Nikkei newspaper

On the morning of April 16, at CMC Tower, Cau Giay, Hanoi, a delegation from the Nikkei Shimbun arrived to find more about the capacity and business orientation of CMC Corporation.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - Chairman of Board of Directors/Executive President of CMC Corporation (CMC) met with Mr. Yuji Nitta - Chief Representative and the reporters from Japan's premier daily newspaper - the Nikkei Shimbun. With 148 years of history (since 1876), the Nikkei is currently one of the biggest and most respected newspapers in the world, focusing on finance and technology. The visit took place as CMC was about to end its fiscal year 2023 and begin its fiscal year 2024 with a number of ground-breaking initiatives

In the interview with the Nikkei, CMC President Nguyen Trung Chinh said that the corporation planned to bolster its business operations and enter foreign markets, with a particular emphasis on the US, Europe, and South Korea. CMC plans to become a billion-dollar worldwide digital firm by 2028, and as part of that plan, three essential "keywords" will be included in its development roadmap: AI/DX (Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation), Go Global and Green Economy. 

By increasing our presence in markets with high demand for ICT services, CMC will gradually implement its strategy. We are considering new locations, both domestic and overseas, to develop and serve potential clients. Our target by 2028 is to grow our workforce from 5,000 to roughly 10,000–15,000 people worldwide", Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh affirmed and added that CMC is now engaged in a variety of initiatives to encourage investment in the Korean market in the near future. As a result, for its human resources strategy, CMC will continue to welcome talented individuals, whether they are recent graduates or seasoned experts, with the aim of building a solid team that is constantly innovative and creative.

In addition, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh also addressed Mr. Yuji's question regarding the capacity and strength of CMC's technology and infrastructure. The President of CMC said that: “With 31 years of experience, over 20 Made by CMC core technologies, and the mindset of an enterprise that has a young spirit and a desire to conquer the world, we aim to provide enterprises and governments, not only in Vietnam but also worldwide, with high quality and valuable products and services such as AI, Cloud, etc..”

Additionally, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh discussed the advantages of CMC in terms of assembling and strengthening IT resources via collaboration between CMC University and local universities, which has led to the creation of numerous job possibilities in the IT sector in South Korea. Particularly, in the future, CMC can investigate new markets and reach out to new clients in collaboration with its longtime partner Samsung SDS.

During the work session, reporters of the Nikkei also got a better look at CMC infrastructure. This included the Data Center in Hanoi and SOC, a modern security operation center that uses AI and automation technology and is able to monitor, analyze, and handle information security incidents at client systems in real time.
