CMC, Operation Smile and 84 Race signs agreement for virtual run event to raise funds

At the ceremony, representatives of the three parties expressed their joy to officially accompany each other in a meaningful charity run to bring smiles back to unfortunate children born with cleft lip and cleft palate.
“Inspiring Run CMC 28” is a race in a series of events to celebrate the 28th birthday of CMC Corporation. This is also an occasion for 3,000 officers and employees of CMC to share the same heart beat and live positively for themselves and for the society.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ho Thanh Tung, Acting General Director of CMC Corporation said: “Organizing a race event to connect people has great social meanings and helps us to get closer to each other. In addition, through the cooperation between CMC, Operation Smile and 84 Race, we want to encourage and promote sports activities in the corporation as well as to organize meaningful charity programs and ensure our social responsibility to the community. We also look forward to the participation of our clients, partners and the runner community to bring 28 smiles to children through Inspiring Run CMC 28”.
The charity race is organized by CMC, Operation Smile and 84 Race to support Operation Smile Fund. It guarantees to provide a maximum amount of 280 million VND, equivalent to 28 surgical operations for children with congenital cleft lip and cleft palate.
For every kilometer run by officers, employees, clients and partners of CMC, Operation Smile Fund will receive 1,000 VND (the amount is doubled in the weekends). “Inspiring Run CMC 28” is the largest-scale race of CMC and the first race with the participation of its friends, clients and partners as well as the runner community. Runners will register to run individually or as a team on the website of 84 Race here .
As the situation of Covid-19 is getting more complicated, it is necessary to protect ourselves and be more responsible to the community. That's why CMC Corporation chose to organize a virtual race. Runners are also advised to comply with regulations of no gathering and ensure to keep a safe distance for everyone in the race.
Appreciating the practical and humane meanings of the race, Mr. Nguyen Viet Phuong, representative of Operation Smile Fund - the institution accompanying "Inspiring Run CMC 28" - said: “We hope that businesses like CMC can support and join hands with Operation Smile to further spread the message of “Sports change lives”.
