CMC joins with runner community to raise fund for Operation Smile
The race kickstarted a series of events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of CMC Corporation. This is an opportunity for CMC staff and the community to spread sportsman spirit and meet social responsibility with every step of the run. With the participation of CMC staff as well as thousands of customers, athletes and KOLs from both domestic and international runner communities, it is hoped that through the race, donations will be made to Operation Smile Fund for 30 children with congenital cleft palate to undergo repair surgery.
The Digital Heritage Race will start at 0:00 on 8 April 2023 (Friday) and last until 23:59 on 7 May 2023. Runners run on their own, at any time of the day, and use the app VietRace365 to see their results. CMC Corporation aims to donate 300 million VND to Operation Smile, equivalent to 30 repair surgeries for children with congenital cleft palate. To achieve this goal, it is expected that a distance of 300,000 km must be covered. Every one valid kilometer of running/walking will make a donation of 1,000 VND to the fund, thereby shortening the journey to find back the smile for young children in difficult circumstances.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh – Chairman of Board of Directors, Executive President of CMC Corporation said: “A race event to connect people has great social meanings, as it helps us to get closer to each other. This race is a sporting activity that embodies the spirit of CMC people and our business culture. In addition, through the collaboration between CMC and Operation Smile, we want to encourage and promote sporting activities in the corporation as well as to hold meaningful charity programs and meet our social responsibility to the community."
