Despite being middle-aged, leaders at the top of CMC still fully participate in training and are exemplary in all activities.

This is the first time a civilian corporation has brought their leaders into military environment for training and fostering. The leaders of CMC consist of 61 people, including Chairman, Vice Chairman and Executive Board of the Corporation and Board of Directors, Executive Board and key individuals of 12 member companies, aged from 30 to 60.

At the academy, the leaders of CMC have been structured into 2 platoons, lived and worked as soldiers, learned 9 out of 11 regimes in a day (except weapons protection and production increasing).

Every morning, CMC “soldiers” wake up at 4:45 a.m, get up, do exercises, fold blanket squarely, have their interior soldier style checked, eat breakfast and go to drill-ground to train. In the afternoon, the soldiers are taught routine orders and physically trained through activities such as long running, climbing, high jump, long jump, etc. After dinner, the soldiers from CMC Corporation are guided to engage in activities of solidarity groups, read newspaper, watch television, and study. At exactly 9:30pm, “soldiers” are assigned to take a night guard at “watch tower”, watching for the sleep of their comrades. In the middle of the night, the alarm goes off, everyone is ordered to move. They pack everything, put them neatly into the backpack and ... go on the night march.

Despite being middle-aged, the senior leaders of CMC still fully participate in training and are exemplary in all activities. Chairman of CMC – Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - has always been one of the most punctual people when there is order of gathering; he is also hardworking and serious on the drill-ground. The leaders of CMC also seriously participate in the programs of "Night Watch" and "Night March Alarm", although these are quite heavy tasks, requiring toughness, persistence and a high determination to not give up half way.

For younger leaders of CMC, the military training program is a real challenge. Just eating, sleeping and relaxing on time are very difficult activities to ensure, especially for female "soldiers". "We only had 15 minutes to fold our blankets into perfect squares, do morning personal hygiene routine, check the interior and dress in military uniforms to gather at school. The time is too short, because women also have to apply lotion or sun creamscreen before go to the drill-ground with full of sun and wind", said Ms. Thu Ha, Business Director of CMC SISG. As for Ms. Thuy Linh, the female "soldier" from CMC Telecom, eating is what she found difficult. "I always skipped breakfast because I could not eat the morning rice of the army, there were just centella soup and dried fish, I could not swallow." Having dried fish for breakfast is really "the first time" of many people. And if you cannot eat it, you will obviously be hungry.

The training program in military environment for leaders is the opening activity of the culture campaign of CMC Corporation.

Business Manager of CMC Global, Mr. Lang Vinh Tuong, said that in a night guard, he was very hungry, and intended to leave the watch tower for a late night meal. But then he determined to properly carry out the duties of a soldier ... " I admire myself so, so much - that's the first thing I say when I get up. That night, I was tortured by the hunger, not only when on duty but even when I was in bed. I am too hungry to sleep, it must be almost dawn when I finally took a nap. My biggest success is that I have overcome myself, overcome my limitations, have done things that I have never expected to do such as carrying all the luggage for a long march in the night, "said Mr. Tuong.

About the decision to organize the program, CMC Chairman - Nguyen Trung Chinh said "The sense of discipline, commitment and loyalty of soldiers in the military are important qualities not only to the soldiers, but also to the entrepreneurs and the businesses. CMC decides to bring all senior leaders to military school so that all of them could "absorb" these qualities and, at the same time, learn from the training processes, and ways of organization of the military to find out appropriate solutions, then apply them to the company.”

Mr. Chinh also said that the military training program for leaders is the opening activity of the culture building campaign of CMC Corporation. The three core values that CMC highly promotes are Creativity, Professionalism and Teamwork. According to the head of CMC, this experience of military discipline of CMC senior staff has shown a very good team spirit, trained professionalism and promoted creative thinking in applying military tactics to business.

CMC plans to bring this training and fostering program into an annual activity for staff at all levels of the Corporation.
