CMC Corporation successfully holds the 2022 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders

On the morning of 27 July 2022, CMC Corporation has successfully held its 2022 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, with the participation of Board of Directors, Board of Management and Board of Supervisors of the Corporation, along with 59 shareholders representing 92,857,463 shares, i.e. 85.19% of the total voting rights. According to the assessment report, FY2021 is considered a successful year of the Corporation, despite many difficulties and challenges brought by Covid-19.

Compared to the same period last year, CMC's consolidated revenue is VND 6,909 bn., up 22%; earning before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) is over VND 700 bn., increased by 20%; and profit before tax is VND 432 bn., up 29% and meeting 113% of the set target.

"The Corporation's outstanding growth rate is reflected not only in figures, but also in the increase of number of employees by 58% compared to 2020. By the time this meeting is held, we have 5,000 employees, and our goal is to reach the milestone of 10,000 employees by 2025" – said Mr. Ho Thanh Tung, General Director of the Corporation.

CMC has also officially put Tan Thuan Data Center, located within the CMC Creative Space (CCS) in Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City into operation. Designed by B-Barcelona Singapore to comply with the strictest standards for a modern DC, such as PCI DSS, TVRA (Threat Vulnerability & Risk Assessments), ISO 27001:2013 / ISO 9001:2015, etc. and especially the Uptime Tier III certification for both Design and Construction, Tan Thuan Data Center is proud to be the most secure and modern data center in Vietnam. It is expected that the opening ceremony of Tan Thuan Data Center will be held in August 2022.

Over the last year, research and development activities for "made by CMC" technology solutions and digital services, such as CMC Cloud (computing platform), C-Contract (electronic contract solution), CIVAMS (smart face recognition solution) and C.Ope2n (open ecosystem for businesses and organizations) have been promoted and rewarded with many prestigious awards.

Particularly, in order to create a launching pad for the vision of becoming a global digital brand, the Corporation has expanded to the field of education by opening the first digital university in Vietnam - Asia University of Art and Design, tasked with the mission of providing high-quality human resources to CMC as well as training an elite generation of digital citizens for the community. Also at the meeting, President Nguyen Trung Chinh excitedly announced to all shareholders that, on 26 July 2022, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam officially signed the Decision for Asia University of Art and Design to change its name into CMC University.

All contents of discussion at the meeting receive a high percentage of votes in favor.

Towards the goal of becoming a global digital corporation with billion-dollar in revenue by 2025, the meeting set the goals for CMC in 2022 as follows: annual revenue is USD 381 mil. (equivalent to VND 8,634 bn.), increased by 25% compared to 2021; earning before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) is USD 41 mil (equivalent to VND 967 bn.), increased by 38% compared to 2021. Especially, the shareholders approved the plan of paying dividends in 2021 by shares at the rate of 13% and issuing bonus shares to shareholders at the rate of 24.62% from capital surplus, thereby increasing the company's charter capital to over VND 1,500 bn. With a high percentage of unanimous votes for all contents, the 2022 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of CMC Corporation has been successfully concluded.

At the end of the meeting, President Nguyen Trung Chinh once again reaffirmed the ambition of building a global, world-class digital corporation, as well as the determination to make Vietnam a "Digital Hub" of the Asia - Pacific region, connecting data and sharing knowledge with the world.
