The gift-giving ceremony for low-income households and children with limited resources in Cau Giay District

On the afternoon of 26 January, People's Committee of Cau Giay District held a ceremony to receive and distribute gifts for Lunar New Year 2024 to underprivileged households and children living in challenging situations. At the event, CMC Corporation (CMC) together with other enterprises and organizations presented gifts to 60 impoverished households and 80 disadvantaged children in the district.

Previously, People's Committee of Cau Giay District mobilized agencies, institutions and enterprises in the district to give a total amount of 183 million VND's worth as subsidies to 122 disadvantaged children, as well as another 540 million VND to 600 households in difficult circumstances and elderly people turning 100 and over 100 years old to ensure that everyone has a happy and warm Year of the Dragon. Although these are little gifts, they are practical and inspiring for impoverished homes, especially the kids, to start the new year. This is one of CMC’s annual activities where the corporation works with the community to support underprivileged families in improving their living conditions and to look after the needs of poverty-stricken students during the Lunar New Year celebration.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Trinh Thi Dung, Vice Chairperson of People's Committee of Cau Giay District – Hanoi acknowledged, deeply valued and sincerely expressed gratitude to businesses for their support of the city's and the district's social security initiatives. “The support and contributions of businesses and institutions have helped to ensure social security in the district. We expect to keep getting this assistance for the volunteer work in Cau Giay District in the future", Ms. Trinh Thi Dung affirmed.

Before this, CMC Corporation had carried out a number of practical programs and actions as part of a series of community activities, such as: Granting Nguyen Huu Duyen scholarships, giving computers to struggling students in remote areas, hosting initiatives including Newborns Volunteer Movement to support infant health; and Operation Smile, which raises money for cleft surgeries for underprivileged children, etc.
